How We Fit 35s on the 2025 4Runner

Tire & Wheel Setup

  • Tires: 35×12.50R17

  • Wheels: Method Race Wheels 703

  • Finish: Brushed

  • Offset: +35

We specifically chose a +35 offset to:

  • Keep the wheel tucked slightly inward

  • Maintain proper turning clearance

  • Preserve some controlled poke

  • Avoid excessive scrub radius changes

Offset choice on the 6th Gen is critical. Too aggressive and you’ll fight clearance at full lock. Too tucked and you lose stance and stability.

Clearance Modifications Required for 35s

Let’s talk real-world fitment.

1️⃣ Front Air Dam Removal

The factory front air dam hangs low — roughly 6 inches lower than ideal for larger tire fitment and approach angle. It was removed immediately.

2️⃣ Front Fender Liner Adjustment

Instead of cutting everything apart:

  • Unbolt lower fender liner

  • Push liner forward

  • Re-bolt into new position

This clears the tire at full steering lock.

Clean. Simple. Effective.

3️⃣ Rear Wheel Well Adjustment

At the rear:

  • Remove carpet-covered trim piece

  • Unbolt four bolts from safety mount

  • Reposition for clearance

No excessive cutting. No hack job.

Just thoughtful adjustment.

Lift Setup: Preload Collar + Top Shim + Rear Puck

This build uses our:

  • Preload Collar

  • ½” Top Shim

  • 1” Rear Puck

Ride Height Numbers

  • Starting height: 20.5 inches

  • Final front height: 22.75 inches

This combination:

  • Levels the truck front-to-back

  • Maintains ride quality

  • Avoids excessive suspension geometry changes

  • Provides proper 35” tire clearance

If you’re planning 35s on your 6th Gen, lift strategy matters more than raw height numbers.
