Version 2.0! Westcott Designs 5th Gen (2010-2024) 4Runner rear hatch ladder 2.0! Construction is all aluminum to keep it light weight. The uprights are double layered and updated from the 1/4″ to 3/16″ aluminum to make them super rigid and dropping some weight in the process. We also enlarged the cutouts in the side rails and top plate to lose some weight without compromising rigidity and stability. We realized with all the ladders on the market they just did not have large enough steps so we took it to the next level. We put in a 1”x 2” step to reassure a solid step ever time. Each step has tracks in it to allow for additional attachment points. This ladder is the most solid mounting ladder on the market!

Introducing the ALL-NEW Westcott Designs™ 5th Gen (2010-2024) 4Runner rear hatch ladder Version 2.0!!

What’s new on Version 2.0?

We’ve updated the design of the side rails and top bracket. This new design follows our latest ladder design language that you’ll see on the new GX550, Lc250 and the all-new 6th Gen 4Runner. A functional change to the design was to find ways to lose some weight to help lighten the burden on your rear hatch struts. The factory struts can struggle under the weight, especially as they get older, so we worked on dropping weight to help with that issue. The 5th Gen Ladder 2.0 has lost 6 lbs of weight and still is just as sturdy as the 1.0 version – a real feat in engineering!

Ladder Construction:

Both the 1.0 version and 2.0 ladders are constructed in all aluminum to keep it light weight. The uprights are double layered and the 2.0 Version has been updated from the 1/4″ aluminum to a 3/16″ aluminum – also helping cut down on weight, without compromising on strength. Version 1.0 comes in around 18 lbs. and the new ladder at just over 12 lbs.

Design Change:

You’ll find that we enlarged the cutouts in the side rails and top plate to lose some weight in version 2.0 without compromising rigidity and stability. Version 1.0 matches the same style as our 5th Gen 4Runner roof rack with the cut-outs in the side rails. And, for both ladders, we realized all other ladders on the market just did not have large enough steps, so we took it to the next level. We put in a 1”x 2” step to reassure a solid step ever time. Each step has t-track slots in it to allow for additional attachment points. This ladder is the most solid mounting ladder on the market!

*Note; with the additional weight of our ladder, and depending on both how old your rear factory struts are and the climate you are in, we recommend upgrading your rear hatch struts to a pair of heavy-duty ones. We have had good luck with these ones linked here in addition to other offerings out on the market.*

Return Policy

Refund eligibility for returns is as follows:

Within 30 days of invoice date: Refund and/or store credit on parts only, less any restocking fees
After 30 days of invoice date: No returns or refunds after 30 days

Refunds will be given on parts only and excludes shipping, or any other charges. All parts must be returned in the original package, with all supplied parts, cannot be damaged or installed, and must be in original condition. All returned parts must be sent freight prepaid and fully insured and are subject to a re-boxing fee. We recommend using Fedex/UPS ground services with the insured value at the retail price of what’s being returned. Returned parts that are damaged during transit to us are non-returnable. Certain parts are not returnable, including but not limited to wheels and tires that have been mounted and/or installed, fiberglass parts, special and custom orders, electrical items, and closeouts.

Note that all returns are subject to a 15-25% restocking fee. Please include all original packaging, manuals, and ancillary materials in order to avoid being penalized.

At Westcott Designs, we stand behind our high-quality products and designs. Westcott Designs, Inc. warrants that its products will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for so long as the original purchaser owns the product, subject to the exceptions set forth below, PROVIDED THAT SUCH PRODUCTS WERE properly installed in accordance with our installation instructions.

Westcott Designs will repair or replace, in its sole discretion, the product or components found to be defective; provided, however, the maximum amount Westcott Designs may pay under this Limited Warranty shall not exceed the price paid by the purchaser for the defective products. Repairs or replacements will be made with like or similar parts.

POWDER COAT COVERAGE

Our powder coat products and services are warranted from the date of purchase by the original purchaser for 1 year.

OUR LIMITED WARRANTY DOES NOT APPLY TO DAMAGE RESULTING FROM:

Misuse, abuse, accident, neglect, negligence, vandalism, fire, riot, war, road conditions, racing, acts of God or any cause of loss normally covered by insurance;
Improper use, installation, maintenance, or service;
Failure to follow directions on proper use or installation;
Any modification or alteration without prior express written authorization by Westcott Designs;
Repair or attempted repair by unauthorized persons;
Replacement of original components with substitutes without prior express written authorization by Westcott Designs;
Exposure to corrosives, contaminants, chemicals, salt, irradiation or atmospheric or environmental conditions;
Usage or loading in excess of recommended capacities or in non-standard applications; and
Normal wear and tear.

Our Limited Warranty will become null and void if you use your vehicle, at any time, for commercial use.

THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER OBLIGATIONS, LIABILITIES OR WARRANTIES. WESTCOTT DESIGNS DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, ANY WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR OTHERWISE.

In no event shall Westcott Designs or its distributors be liable or responsible for INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES or for any other direct or indirect damage, loss, cost, expense or fee.
