The 6th Gen 2025 Toyota 4Runner is all over the road and we’re pushing the limits on the mods.

In this latest Westcott Designs™ build, Jeff walks through a fully dialed 2025 4Runner Sport running 35×12.50R17 tires on Method 703s — and we’re breaking down exactly what it takes to make that happen.

If you’re building a 6th Gen and wondering:

  • Can you fit 35s?

  • What offset works best?

  • Do you need trimming?

  • What lift setup levels it properly?

  • Which sliders and roof rack actually match the truck?

This is your full technical and design breakdown.

The Platform: 2025 6th Gen Toyota 4Runner Sport

The Sport trim brings:

  • Painted flares

  • Unique hood design

  • Sport front bumper

  • Clean side emblem package

It’s already a sharp truck — but to get it trail-ready and proportional with 35s, some thoughtful modifications are required.

How We Fit 35s on the 2025 4Runner

Tire & Wheel Setup

  • Tires: 35×12.50R17

  • Wheels: Method Race Wheels 703

  • Finish: Brushed

  • Offset: +35

We specifically chose a +35 offset to:

  • Keep the wheel tucked slightly inward

  • Maintain proper turning clearance

  • Preserve some controlled poke

  • Avoid excessive scrub radius changes

Offset choice on the 6th Gen is critical. Too aggressive and you’ll fight clearance at full lock. Too tucked and you lose stance and stability.

Clearance Modifications Required for 35s

Let’s talk real-world fitment.

1️⃣ Front Air Dam Removal

The factory front air dam hangs low — roughly 6 inches lower than ideal for larger tire fitment and approach angle. It was removed immediately.

2️⃣ Front Fender Liner Adjustment

Instead of cutting everything apart:

  • Unbolt lower fender liner

  • Push liner forward

  • Re-bolt into new position

This clears the tire at full steering lock.

Clean. Simple. Effective.

3️⃣ Rear Wheel Well Adjustment

At the rear:

  • Remove carpet-covered trim piece

  • Unbolt four bolts from safety mount

  • Reposition for clearance

No excessive cutting. No hack job.

Just thoughtful adjustment.

Lift Setup: Preload Collar + Top Shim + Rear Puck

This build uses our:

  • Preload Collar

  • ½” Top Shim

  • 1” Rear Puck

Ride Height Numbers

  • Starting height: 20.5 inches

  • Final front height: 22.75 inches

This combination:

  • Levels the truck front-to-back

  • Maintains ride quality

  • Avoids excessive suspension geometry changes

  • Provides proper 35” tire clearance

If you’re planning 35s on your 6th Gen, lift strategy matters more than raw height numbers.

Rock Sliders: OEM+ Done Right

Our 6th Gen Rock Sliders are built to look OEM+, not like an afterthought.

Design Highlights

  • Radius matched to body lines

  • Extended coverage near fenders

  • Kick-out tube for rear quarter protection

  • Additional front tube for reinforcement

  • Frame plate reinforcement

  • Angled corner tubes for structural strength

  • Double laminated top plate

  • Signature bottle opener

And yes — we stack dimes properly. Weld quality matters. If it’s not perfect, it doesn’t ship.

Low Profile Modular Roof Rack (RCT System

Our new Low Profile Super Modular RCT Roof Rack was designed with airflow and strength in mind.

Why It’s Different)

  • Separate mounting brackets

  • Interchangeable crossbars

  • All steel bracket construction

  • 90-degree bent brackets for downward load strength

  • Stainless hardware with black oxide coating

Here’s the reality:
The roof rack can hold more weight than the factory roof mounting points can.

So we design for real-world load limits — not marketing numbers.

Aerodynamics Matter

We:

  • Match the visor angle to the roof line

  • Keep side gaps extremely tight

  • Eliminate large cut-off corners that trap airflow

  • Reduce turbulence and wind noise

This rack is built to move air over the truck — not under it.

Rear Molle Panel

Modular. Bolt-in. Removable.

  • Stainless badge detail

  • Integrated bottle opener

  • Suction mount support

  • Accessory-ready design

Future attachments are coming.

The Final Look: Method 703 in Brushed Finish

When Method Race Wheels asked what we wanted to see next, we asked for:

  • Brushed finish

  • +35 offset

And this build proves it works.

The finish ties perfectly with:

  • The shadowed roof rack overlay

  • The Sport trim painted flares

  • The overall OEM+ direction
