Westcott Designs is looking for a highly skilled CNC Shop Manager who knows how to program, set up, and run CNC machines with confidence and precision. If you’re someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, understands both lathes and mills, and can lead a shop floor — we want to talk to you.
This is not an entry-level role. We need someone who truly knows what they’re doing.
Job Title: CNC Manager
Job Summary: The CNC Manager is responsible for overseeing all CNC machining operations at Westcott Designs, including programming, setup, operation, and supervision of both CNC lathes and mills. This role requires a highly skilled machinist with strong programming knowledge who can ensure precision, efficiency, quality control, and team leadership within the machine shop.
The CNC Manager will manage workflow, maintain equipment, optimize machining processes, and ensure production meets quality and timeline standards.
What You’ll Do:
- Program and operate CNC lathes and mills
- Manage daily shop operations
- Oversee job scheduling and workflow
- Ensure tight tolerances and quality standards
- Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues
- Lead and mentor shop personnel
What We’re Looking For
- Strong hands-on CNC experience (5+ years preferred)
- Proven programming ability (G-code / CAM software)
- Deep understanding of machining processes
- Experience working with precision tolerances
- Leadership experience or strong shop-floor authority
Bonus If You Have
- CAD/CAM proficiency (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, etc.)
- Experience in custom manufacturing
- Process improvement mindset
